Wood Butchers of the North, with Cheboygan Logmarks by Ellis Olson.
"The inventive lumberjack seemed to prefer nicknames to proper terms, especially the catchy phrases that he had created. He called carpenters 'wood butchers', the camp cook, 'cookie' and his duffel bag his 'turkey'". This book is brief look at the lumbering industry of the Cheboygan area in the late 1800s. Written by one of Cheboygan's local historians, the book also contains illustrations of the many log marks used by the lumbermen.
